Derek Gunn is the author of the Vampire Apocalypse series. The first book Vampire Apocalypse: A World Torn Asunder, was released towards the end of 2006 and is Derek's debut novel. The film rights are under option and a movie is in development.. The second book in the series, Vampire Apocalypse: Descent into Chaos, is due to be released in the US in the Autumn. The third, Vampire Apocalypse: Fallout is due out in 2009.

Derek has also had short fiction published in anthologies from Black Death Books and Permuted Press.  He is currently putting the finishing touches to the third VA book and writing a stand alone novel.

Derek Gunn was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1964.   and spent his teenage years devouring all the books he  could lay his hands on from Steven King, Graham Masterton and James Herbert to Edgar Rice Burroughs and Alastair McClean. Added to this diet were a lot of horror movies: a few of his favourite ones being The Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead, Day of the Dead and Alien.

“I loved writing short stories in my teens but then college, career, marriage and young children took all my attention for quite a number of years. Finally, I found a little “me” time and started writing in earnest about 7 years ago.”  Derek lives in Dublin, Ireland with his wife, 3 children, 2 guinea pigs and one ever-faithful dog.  He holds a degree in Marketing and many professional qualifications for consultancy and communications and works for a major international Telecoms as a specialist designing communications systems for a wide variety of businesses.  He is a member of the Horror Writers
